The Peachtree Counseling Department strives to enhance all students' academic, career and personal/social development in a safe and inclusive environment. To reach this goal, we facilitate classroom guidance lessons and provide small group and individual counseling sessions.
Classroom Guidance Lessons
Our counselors facilitate guidance lessons throughout the school year which gives us a change to interact with all of our students in the classroom. Lessons typically last 30-60 minutes in length and cover topics such as high school planning, career readiness, problem-solving skills, friendship/conflict resolution, and study skills.
Small Group Counseling
Small counseling groups are offered to students who may benefit from spending extra time developing coping skills, conflict resolution strategies, and managing life changes with other students experiencing similar situations. Groups are organized based on students' needs. Groups can have anywhere from 5-8 members and usually meet once a week for at least 6 weeks.
Individual Counseling
Our priority is your child's safety and education. Sometimes students experience obstacles that become barriers to their academic success during the school day. Counselors are available for individual counseling, peer mediation, academic advisement, and career planning sessions throughout the school day.
To support the needs of all of our students, our counselors regularly collaborate with faculty, families, and community stakeholders. So please do not hesitate to contact us!
